I purchased a computer system from Newegg that had Windows 10 Home preloaded, and the system will not activate. It says I need a different key code, which nothing about Windows 10 came with the system, and Newegg says I need a Microsoft case reference number to process with them, and I cannot get to a live person for it.

Overall Review: Windows 10 is fine, but if you’ve made a lot of changes to your PC then I highly suggest that you skip the middleman Newegg and buy it directly from the Microsoft website as that way they have the proof of purchase and it will associate it with your Microsoft account. Download the Full retail copy instead the OEM The Key was emailed to me in few minutes.
Easy instalation and OS work fine. I’ll create a boot usb drive. Pros: – Easiest Upgrade Ever!!!! My experiences with Win 10 on other systems was absolutely horrible like Me, Vista or Win 8.
But I have some key programs that required Win 10 and it was time to bite the bullet. I set aside days, did backups and fully expected to end up doing a clean install and maybe end up reverting back. I even removed a few programs to make it easier on the software.
Wow, did I miss judge this. This was the best upgrade experience I ever had. The key programs transferred, all my browser stuff and a long list of very proprietary stuff transferred to, including an old game that runs in Dos-Box that I goof around with from time to time and my anti-virus Trend-Micro.
I could make a list, not very long, of stuff that didn’t take perfectly. Like my Turbo-Tax needed me to enter my serial number again and I had a task bar on my second screen that I needed to turn off What I can see is it kept virtually all my customized system settings and I had a lot! But wait there’s more, my computer runs better now! Yes, not only was it easy it is better.
But other than reinstalling things I removed this was done in a couple hours. I actually jumped on here today to write this, still shocked. For you geeks here is some of my basic system specs just to give you an idea.
